Nathan Lu

Director

Nathan Lu is the founder and Director of ABP Lawyers. He is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, admitted in February 2008, and has more than 18 years' experience helping individuals, families and businesses navigate important property and commercial decisions. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Hons) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

His legal and business background has shaped the way he approaches his work — not just looking at the legal issues, but understanding what his clients are actually trying to achieve. He is also a Notary Public, assisting clients with documents and transactions that require notarial services in Australia and overseas. Before establishing ABP Lawyers, Nathan worked in the commercial and property division of one of Australia's largest full-service law firms. Over the course of his career, he has acted for everyone from individuals and family-owned businesses to large corporations and international organisations.  

His experience includes commercial and residential property transactions, business sales and acquisitions, commercial leasing, property development, corporate structuring, asset protection, estate planning and succession planning. Nathan has advised clients including Singapore Airlines, Hainan Airlines, WD-40, Howard Storage World and the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre, as well as numerous Australian businesses and private clients.

What Nathan particularly enjoys about practising law is getting to know his clients and understanding the bigger picture. Buying a home, starting or selling a business, entering into a major lease or planning for the future can be significant decisions. Nathan believes good legal advice should make those decisions clearer and less stressful, rather than simply add more complexity. His approach is practical and straightforward. He takes the time to explain the issues in plain English, considers the commercial realities involved and works with clients to find solutions that make sense for their particular circumstances.

Nathan has a particular interest in working with business owners, property investors, developers and families, and enjoys building long-term relationships with clients as their legal needs evolve. He speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and regularly assists Australian and international clients with property and business matters. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys tennis, Wing Chun Kung Fu, travelling and spending time with his family.

Alice Chen

Conveyancer

Alice Chen is a Licensed Conveyancer and Justice of the Peace based in NSW. She has been assisting clients with their property transactions since 2020 and is passionate about making the conveyancing process clear, efficient and as stress-free as possible.

At ABP Lawyers, Alice specialises in residential and commercial property conveyancing, assisting clients with the purchase and sale of property and guiding them through each stage of the transaction from contract through to settlement.

Alice takes a personal and practical approach to conveyancing. She understands that buying or selling a property can be one of the biggest financial decisions a person makes, particularly for first home buyers, and takes the time to explain the process, answer questions and ensure her clients understand what to expect at each stage.

Alice places great importance on being responsive, approachable and keeping her clients informed throughout their transaction.

Alice particularly enjoys assisting first home buyers and helping them navigate what can initially seem like an overwhelming process. Her aim is to give clients greater clarity and confidence from the moment they sign a contract through to settlement.

Outside of work, Alice enjoys spending time with family and friends and making the most of her time away from the office.
